- What items did you purchase from Especially For You?
-
I pretty much purchased my entire wedding outfit from Especially For You; including my Kay Mason dress, head piece, veil, and hand-made jewellery. In addition to, my gorgeous Alexia bridesmaid dresses.
- Please give your general feedback about these items and the service you received at Especially For You
-
I completely fell in love with my Kay Mason dress the moment I tried it on, in fact I fell in love with every item I purchased from Especially For You as the quality, choice and price of everything was fantastic. In terms of the service, it really was wonderful. I felt like Sandra and Carole’s priority not just another bride-to-be, what more could any girl want when planning their big day?
- Out of all the other suppliers you used on your wedding day, who would you recommend and why?
-
All of them if I’m honest, however I would especially recommend:
- Browsholme Hall – As it is an outstanding venue, with a welcoming feel and an ‘anything is possible’ attitude.
- With A Twist Catering – As their food is both affordable and absolutely delicious.
- Flowers With Passion – As Sara Collinge’s flowers, service and price are unbeatable in my opinion.
- What part of the day are you most pleased with the outcome of?
-
It’s really difficult to choose one aspect as we were really pleased with all of it, but possibly the professional photographs by Phil Garlington, as he really managed to capture the emotion of our day, at the same time as documenting all the little details that made it so special to us.
- In hindsight what would you do differently (if anything)?
-
I would definitely recommend trying to kneel down in your dress to avoid embarrassment at the altar, I would also suggest not just walking backwards and forwards in it when you try it on, but sitting down and dancing around in it to ensure that everything will stay where it should on the day.
- Did you have a budget plan, and, if so, how did you keep within this, or if you didn’t keep to it, what costs did you overlook or underestimate?
-
Yes we did have a budget plan. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to stick to it though. I think it’s easy to underestimate the individual cost of each aspect of your day when you first sit down to do your budgeting. Our first mistake was rushing into putting down deposits for things, having fallen in love with them, prior to working out how much we actually had to spend on them. Try to remember to factor in the little things as well, for example the cost of postage for your save the date cards, invitations and thank you cards etc. Take your time when making your decisions and remember every little saving you can make along the way will really make a big difference to your overall total.
- Please include any other comments you feel will help any brides to be reading this

My top tip would be to make a list of all of the things you want as part of your day and to highlight your priorities, this will help you to identify your ‘must haves’ e.g. a designer dress, a desired photographer, a live band or fireworks. By starting with these ‘must haves’ when you’re working out your budget, you can ensure that there is enough money ‘in the pot’ for the things that are going to mean the most to you and your groom.
